What are the requirements to maintain my AAiP certification?

Your AAiP certification is valid for 1 year. To maintain your AAiP certification in good standing, each year, professionals must complete:

Complete the “What’s New in AI” course every six months
  • This includes the Fall 2025 6-Month Update in AI, now ready for you in the Learning Hub.


Complete three elective hours of AI learning annually
  • Take any 2 Sidecar Continuing Education(CE) courses or submit outside learning for approval.
  • Submit your elective hour documentation above

What are examples of approved providers for elective hours?

  • Google (Coursera + Cloud Skills Boost)

  • OpenAI Learn
  • LinkedIn Learning — AI courses only
  • Industry Providers with AI-specific courses


Important: Introductory Courses Do Not Qualify
Maintenance hours must reflect your continued advancement in AI competency.
Courses that are introductory, beginner-level, or equivalent to the AAiP curriculum are not eligible.

Eligible courses must be:
  • Intermediate or advanced
  • Beyond the level of content covered in AAiP
  • Focused on applied AI, prompting, agents, workflows, data for AI, or responsible AI


Once I complete all requirements, what are my next steps?

  • Once you complete all requirements, your next step is submit your documentation for approval.
  • Once we confirm all of the requirements have been met, we will email you to update you on the status of your AAiP.

Will I receive reminders about upcoming requirements?

  • You will receive an email 3 months prior to your AAiP expiring.
  • The email will come from community@sidecar.ai, and it will go the the email that was listed on your account at the time of earning your AAiP unless you request to update it.

How often do I need to renew or maintain my AAiP certification?

  • You will need to maintain/renew your AAiP once a year
